Today is my 35th Birthday

Hi all,

Today is my 35th birthday. And I must say, this has been one of (if not) the best year of my life. Since my last b-day I not only quit smoking ( Dec 10 it will be a full year) but I also met, fell in love with and got engaged to Ron. Plus, I start a new job tomorrow, with a great company, which I am so looking forward to. I feel as if this is a real turning point in my life. Not sure where it will go from here, but I am sure it will be an adventure.

Happy Thanksgiving

I have been talking with Hope of Hopie Knits the past few days, and in our last conversation, I noted that I am so grateful for both Ron and Kobe. Well I am. I am so thankful for their love and support, along with the love and support I get from all of my friends and family, especially my mom and my brother. I am also thankful that I have an opportunity to give that same love and support to those around me.

Hope posted her own message of Thanks giving, which includes a poignant and moving piece attributed to Tyler Perry.

So, before we start rattling pots and yelling at that one relative who ALWAYS tries to run the kitchen but can't cook a thing, take some time out to appreciate the love all around you. Even from that relative criticizing the way you stir a pot. And if its get to be too much, excuse yourself for a few minutes of knitting therapy.

Kobe and the Vet

Kobe went to the vet earlier this morning because he was favoring his right front paw. Well, after leaving him at the vet most of the day and giving them a huge lump of money, they said he sprained his ankle and needs to be on "crate-rest" for at least a week.

Ok, here is the really interesting thing: Kobe has NEVER had to stay in a crate at home. So after wrestling with the disparate wire pieces for 15 minutes or so to get it set up. It took another 30 minutes to convince Kobe to go into. That and about 20 treats.

He is in there now and he hates it! But it is the only way we can keep him from flying off the stairs, jumping on and off the beds and playing with Ron. TTFN!

Toni's Birthday Celebration

Last night my friend Toni and I went to the Acme Comedy Company to see C. Willi Myles do his stand up routine to celebrate our collective birthdays. Her birthday was actually on November 20 and mine is coming up on November 27. Anyway, we had such a blast! Before the show, we sat in the bar area to exchange presents and dish dirt. I also took the time to do a bit more work on my mittens (which should be finished tonight).

I gave Toni a scarf for her birthday, which she seemed to like and she gave me some bath confetti and made it clear she did not want to know what we did with it!

C. Willi Myles was incredibly funny! But more importantly his act was clean! Yes ladies and gentlemen, there are comics out there that can make us laugh with out a lot of swear words and adult content! I laughed so hard, I forgot to knit!

I think Ron and I will go see him at some point but Toni and I had a great time! Anyone in the Twin Cities this weekend looking for something to do, should go check him out!

My Dog No Longer Smells like Corn Chips

We finally took Kobe to the groomers for a bath...now he smells fresh and clean instead of like a bag of stale corn chips.

The Spare Room Tycoon

I saw this book on the crawler at the bottom of the site and I thought this is just perfect! This is what I want to be The Spare Room Tycoon. I want to create an empire on the guest bed duvet! There are seem to be so may sites that started out as hobbies (Knitty!) and have turned into a viable business. I think I will order this one!

Chronicles of ....

Ok, so I finished the shell for the hat and I am trying to decide how to embellish it. I have started on the mittens, but the thumb gussets are confusing me a bit. Sometimes, I feel like such a novice when it comes to knitting. I have been doing it for years, but it just seems that there is so much that I still need to learn. But alas, I shall continue my efforts to improve. I taught myself to knit and crochet about 7 years ago, so I can learn how to make a gusset! TTFN!

Its getting to be about that time

Hey,

As I was driving home today, the commentator on MPR said there is a strong chance that we will have snow by Thanksgiving weekend. Of course they are still not sure how much snow we will get, but that is not the point. So, in addition to trying to finish moving my blog, I am working on finishing my hat. Once I finish the hat, I'll start on the mittens. I'd better stop now, my husband- to-be is nibbling on my neck in an attempt to draw me away from the keyboard. TTFN!

My New Cape

Here is the new cape I made. I think it is absolutely lovely, of course in my next project, I am going to tackle sleeves. so we will see what happens!

it has been so long since I have posted! I have been so busy living life and knitting, I havent had time to write about it! Ackk! Well, I will write more soon!

Ok as is my custom, i am moving from one room to another. in other words, I am moving my site from wordpress to blogger for the additional functionality, et. al. Now, I must go to bed as my husband-to-be is starting to get irritated with me.
