First, I need to apologize to Jane, I couldn't make it to her event, because my day was utterly crazy. I did send her an email later that night, but I was still quite naughty for not calling her. So Jane, I am really sorry.
Second. Double knitting. I am working on a piece now that uses double knitting. and this seems like quite a laborious process. Is that the general experience with double knitting or am I doing it wrong? I am a naturally thrower but the online video from Knitting Help.com I used to learn how to do it showed someone picking. I tried picking, but I had trouble with the purling. Ah, I love knitting. There is always something new to learn!

I throw and pick, depending on what I'm working on. For double knitting, I throw all the way. You could pick, but throwing is a little more natural to me.
I do think double knitting is a bit laborious, but it has its good uses.
Hey Eryka, cables ARE really easy. In terms of that 'double knitting', well, I have a headache already.
I am glad I am not the only one struggling with it! I think perhaps a cable pattern might be the way to go. But in all honesty, double knitting will give me the look I actually wanted. Akk! Decisions, decisions, decisions!
