Double Knitting..Picking vs Throwing

First, I need to apologize to Jane, I couldn't make it to her event, because my day was utterly crazy. I did send her an email later that night, but I was still quite naughty for not calling her. So Jane, I am really sorry.

Second. Double knitting. I am working on a piece now that uses double knitting. and this seems like quite a laborious process. Is that the general experience with double knitting or am I doing it wrong? I am a naturally thrower but the online video from Knitting Help.com I used to learn how to do it showed someone picking. I tried picking, but I had trouble with the purling. Ah, I love knitting. There is always something new to learn!

Its official...My house has become the yarn palace!

Hi all,

My house has officially become the yarn palace! October has not been a good posting month for me, but I must say it has been for knitting. I finished the "copperpenny" shrug, a mixed berry wrap, and then another wrap that reminds me of black forest cake. I'm not sure where all the food references are coming from, but there you go. I have also take two major leaps.

First, rather than moving my bedroom back upstairs, I have converted the upstairs into my studio/loft and I just love it! I have room to knit, block and everything! Second, I opened an Etsy store and posted a few items. Now, I only have a few things posted, and nothing has sold yet, but I am still optimistic. I am adding a few more pieces (the copperpenny shrug and the black forest wrap)

Also, following a conversation with Twinsetellen, I have renewed my interest in building my website. So we shall see where that goes.

Oh, one more thing... Jane Niemi invited me to an event on Wednesday...as as you all know, I have lived at work for the past few weeks. So Jane sent me the note below...I nearly fell off my chair laughing! She is a truly special woman!

"To Whom It May Concern:
Please excuse Eryka from work on Wednesday, October 29. She has worked much overtime in recent months and missed many knitting meetings, so it is time for her to make up and miss work and attend a knitting outing.

Thank you for your kindness.

Jane Niemi
jsniemi@comcast.net"

If you have time, please join Jane and the rest of us on Wednesday, October 29, is our visit at the Goldstein. We will meet at Room 333 in McNeal Hall at 10 am for the knitwear presentation. If interested afterward you can visit the museum - I believe the exhibit is on sportswear.

McNeal Hall is at 1985 Buford Ave, on the St. Paul campus.

Parking ($2.50 per hour) is available in the Gortner Ramp (1395 Gortner) which is close by.
I am going to bed now. TTFN!
