Hint: they were in my purse this morning.

1 - dollar bill torn in half in a fight between you, who wanted to spend it on yarn, and Kobe, who wanted to use it to buy peanuts with which to lure squirrels into your house
2 - admittedly, I am stumped. Is it a staple on a scrap of paper, torn from your last multi-page yarn receipt? Is it a long skinny seed with wings, from which you will grow your dreams?
3 - hair scrunchy - a bit ratty because of the stress it endures as you wear it on your power runs through Wirth Park
4 - the piece that Kobe tore from the wetsuit of a scuba diver who was coming out of the lake in the park on one of your recent runs. You kept it so you can knit the right size of patch with which to repair the suit. Really it's an improvement - wool is so much warmer than rubber.
1. 3/4 of a sad 1 dollar bill
2. A used staple? or maybe a dead tadpole
3.Hair scrunchie which has seen better days.
4.A piece of lining torn from your purse.
I think they all lost a fight with Kobe.
Or, you went to the store to replace your hair scrunchie because Kobe got ahold of it. You only had the one dollar bill which was held together by that little staple. You went to pay the cashier and then realized that when you had stapled the dollar bill, you had stapled it to the lining in your purse! So after much struggling, the dollar bill came apart and your purse lining ripped. You left the store very frustrated and scrunchie-less.
Am I close? lol
These are great! Incredibly creative! Keep em comin!
"Hmmm," thought Kobe, "I want to buy a present for my person...she's so nice to me. I know I'm not supposed to get into her pockybook but maybe if I only take a little bit of her moneys, she won't notice." [R-i-i-i-i-ip] (1)
"There! I have some moneys! What shall I buy her? Ooooh, there are some pretty flowers! She likes flowers. I'll buy her a pretty flower with some of my moneys. Mmmmm. It smells good." [Nom nom nom nom nom.]
"Oh noes, there's only one petal left. (2) Let me put it in her purse."
"Oooh, there's a pretty, shiny hair thingie. I'll use a little of my moneys to get the hair thingie. Mmmmm, it's all springy and bouncy and chewy. Oh noes! Now I've chewed up her hair thingie and it all sticking out and broken! (3) Let me hide it in her pockybook."
"What can I get her? What can I get her?....Oh noes! While I was thinking I chewed up the rest of my moneys! What can I do for my nice person?! I know!! I'll chew up her favorite black shoes. But I'll leave the best piece all for her, here in her pockybook! (4)"
"I'm such a good dog."
1. 75 cents - in paper form.
2. Clear plastic stitch marker that was squished flat.
3. Bracelet left over from a really bad '80s outfit. (I think I had the same one.)
4. The sad remains of your favorite knitting bag now that Kobe has gone from chewing yarn to chewing the things that hold the yarn. :(
GAH. Blogger ate my fun comments/guesses. I shall go sulk now.
Hmm, here are my guesses : )
1 - dollar bill, the missing part was eaten by Kobe
2 - paper clip?
3 - hair scrunchie that was chewed by Kobe
4 - part of your purse's lining that was chewed by Kobe
See, I just haven't had enough coffee in my system yet today to answer this. -- Also, thank you so much for the kind comments you left on my blog. Very sweet !!!
Carolyn, I hope you do respond. I would love to see your comments!
1--Most of a dollar bill
2--a grain of rice (?)
3--a hair scrunchy
4--Part of the purse lining
hmm 1 - seems to be most of a 1 dollar bill 2- looks like a sliver or a staple... I'll go with staple 3- definitely a hairtie that has seen better days and 4 seems to be the plastic covering of something, if it were from my purse I would say the plastic covering to an old, empty checkbook case.
What happened to them? I think someone or something has been chewing things :-)
Hi Ladies, thanks for submitting such great responses!
1. mostly a dollar bill, but either inflation has taken its toll or else you lost a fight with a vending machine.
2.A staple that held together clear plastic from a very large yarn purchase.
3. A piece of the lining of your purse after smuggling a Tasmanian Devil into the country.
4. A scrunchie that was also used in the Tasmanian Devil smuggling scheme (if customs asked you were going to try and pass the dolled up critter off as one of those Paris Hilton-type lap dogs and the scrunchie was to make the TD look fancy).
Of course, all the above items could have resulted from an unfortunate incident where catnip was stored in your purse and a desperate kitty needed a fix. I do hope you'll tell us the real story.
Hmmm, lets see now
one: the remains of a tip you had left after receiving very bad service for something, you gave them only 1/3 of the dollar lacking actual change...it was a principle moment.
two:the staple which fell off the bottom of a candle you had in your purse. (it held the label on the bottom)
three: the scrunchie, ratted from being used lovingly for the past 15 years. It is used for more than just hair after all!
four: the remains of your credit card after that last big yarn crawl you attended....can you say smokin hot??!!
1) Most of a $1 bill. This is a good demonstration of why Canada has $1 coins.
2) A zipper pull that fell off of a small bag or case.
3) A hair scrunchie that has definitely seen better days.
4) Part of a chequebook cover.
This is, admittedly, not the most creative explanation, but I think Kobe chewed these items.
Alas, I missed the deadline. That's what I get for going silent over the last week and half. I would have had to have guessed the following:
1 -- Legal tender...there's more than one-half of it left, so you can spend it. I will note that when they say, "don't spend it all in one place," this is not the outcome expected.
2 -- The staple you pulled from an unsolicited credit card offer before wisely shredding the rest.
3 -- An early effort at making a hair scrunchy by knitting circular i-cord.
4 -- Proof that Hefty is not so hefty after all.
