ce feather & fan worked in a lovely yarn variegated yarn.Unfortunately, I chose that morning to sit in the second row...right next to "Mother Smith" (her first husband designed the existing church, and her current her husband is Reverend Smith). I was also directly in the line of sight of Reverend Reff, our Pastor and Presiding Elder, as he made his way to the pulpit. Well let just say, between the looks from the pulpit and the "gentle direction" from Mother Smith. Knitting in church is definitely out!
Lesson learned!

ERYKA !!! Shame on you (smile) ! Surely you knew you shouldn't knit in church but were testing the waters !
No, I really thought it would be ok. I mean who would it hurt? I learned my lesson. I dont even take knitting to bible study!
In the Unitarian Universalist church, knitting in church is welcome. Of course, etiquette requires calm colors and non-metal needles! But every group has their own norms. Maybe if you start knitting in church mbusiness meetings you can slowly educate folks that knitting means you are paying more attention, not less.
That is sound advice, but I think it will take a while for the Church to warm up to the idea!
Come on over to College Hills Presbyterian in Tulsa. There is a group of us who regularly have out knitting in church even during services.
Im biding my time here to get a knitting group started. We just cant do it during services!
