I received a special gift during my flight to San Francisco to spend Christmas with my family. On the flight from Chicago out to California, I had the pleasure of sitting next to John Doyle and his wife. They told me of their travels throughout the world and John shared a bit of his personal philosophy with me.
But what was really special, was that John wrote the poem below for me. He said he writes poems all the time, mostly on napkins, and never for publication. Well, I could not resist sharing this one with you all, since it touched me so much. I included a photo of the napkin on which it was originally written. I hope you enjoy it!

Christmas Eve Gift
by John Doyle
In the one moment Spirit touches the creation,
Every ounce of the tapestry blows in the Wind.
a light butterfly is felt in resonance all about,
and there is no place unequal or doubtful in essence.
This present Nativity is born out of God,
and in Spirit is God to the perfect Love of Life.

Life is edified as the gift, that transforming.
The Beauty is in everything, in dimensions.
Gift of God with no other reason to accept,
The receipt changes all as it is a Peace called Shalom.
Where we go or where we have been is Known
Inside of the moment is great and Lovely and Light.
